If you're "on the fence" regarding your DSA membership, allow me to mention the April shopping trip.  Every year, the DSA organizes a shopping trip to a fabulous local market here on the penn.  The organization charters a bus with money raised at the Live Auction and spends the Saturday out shopping and gabbing.  You MUST be a member to participate in the shopping trip. 

Basic Criteria
Membership in the Daegu Spouses’ Association, Area IV is voluntary and issued without regard to race, color, sex, age (18 and older), disability, religion or national origin.  Members must reside in the Area IV Community and be “members of the U.S. Armed Forces, civilian component, dependents, or invited contractors,” as defined under the USA/ROK Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), Article I & XV, respectively.

Membership eligibility criteria are further defined as follows:  Members will pay dues and be eligible to participate in DSA activities, and to vote and hold elective and appointed offices provided they maintain their SOFA status.  No member shall be entitled to a refund of dues upon severing connection with DSA.

(1)  Spouses of Commissioned and Warrant Officers and Enlisted soldiers of the Armed Forces on active duty.

(2)  U.S. Armed Forces officers and Warrant Officers, and Enlisted soldiers.

(3)  Unmarried widows/widowers of Commissioned and Warrant Officers and Enlisted soldiers of the Armed Forces.

(4)  Spouses/adult family members of civilian employees of the Department of Defense. The term “adult” as used in this section refers to a person 18 years or older.

(5)  Civilian employees of the Department of Defense, Appropriated Funds (APF),

(6)  Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF), and contractors.

(7)  Spouses of retired Commissioned and Warrant Officers and Enlisted soldiers of the Armed Forces.

How do I Become a Member?

Spouses interested in a membership can obtain an Application from the the Membership person, Angel Nunez, stop by the Apple Tree Gift & Thrift Shop, or by downloading the Membership Form.

You may return application with membership dues to the Membership Chairperson, Apple Tree Gift & Thrift Shop, or any DSA Board Member.  

How much are anual dues?

Membership dues will be $20.00 for spouses living in the Area IV community, before the month of December. 

*Membership dues will be $10.00 for any person eligible for membership and moves to the Area IV community after the month of December.
